Every Kambo journey begins long before the medicine touches the skin. In the hours or days leading up to a ceremony, we invite participants to connect inward, set intentions, and prepare the body and mind. We recommend eating lightly, drinking plenty of water, and avoiding alcohol or heavy foods the day before.
Before beginning, the group gathers to share intentions and receive an explanation of the process. This moment helps you understand the medicine, relax into trust, and feel the presence of the community around you. We open the space with gratitude.

SAFETY AND CONTRAINDICATIONS

While we are not doctors and do not operate in a medical field, we have many years of experience working with Kambo in retreat settings. In all our years of guiding ceremonies, we have never had an incident requiring medical intervention.
Kambo is a powerful medicine, and we take every precaution to ensure that participants are supported physically, emotionally, and energetically throughout the process. We closely observe every participant, respond to individual needs, and provide guidance during intense or challenging moments.
We also keep our groups small, ensuring that each participant receives full attention and personalized care at all times.
This makes our space especially ideal for first-time participants, who benefit from the sense of safety, trust, and guidance that our team provides.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Kambo is not recommended for people with the following conditions:
Serious heart problems, including pacemaker, bypass, heart failure, enlarged heart, or any condition affecting heart rhythm or electrical conduction.
History of stroke, aneurysm, or blood clot disorders, due to temporary changes in blood pressure Kambo may cause.
Severe low blood pressure (hypotension) or those taking medication to lower blood pressure.
Epilepsy or severe seizure disorders, unless cleared by both a doctor and the facilitator.
Pregnancy or breastfeeding (until at least 6 months after birth or once the baby is fully weaned).
Recent major surgery or open wounds, as the cleansing process can temporarily stress the body.
Current chemotherapy or radiation treatment Kambo should only be considered after full recovery and under medical guidance.
Severe mental health conditions such as schizophrenia, psychosis, or bipolar disorder (in a manic or unstable phase).
Severe liver or kidney disease, as these organs are essential for detoxification.
Addison’s disease (adrenal insufficiency) this is an absolute contraindication.
Organ transplant recipients Kambo must never be used by people who have received any type of transplant, as the immune-boosting effects of Kambo can lead the body to reject the transplanted organ.
